Infracalm Infrared Emitter

The Infracalm heater from FRICO ensures quality thermal comfort all year round on balconies and restaurant terraces protected from the wind. The infrared emitter does not dazzle and is the ideal solution when you are looking for discreet equipment. It is also suitable for temporary heating in occasionally used premises, or for occasional heating.

Positioning, mounting and connection

Positioning

Infrared emitters must be installed around the area to be heated. Usually, the devices are positioned 2 to 2.5 meters above the ground. Generally for infrared emitters equipped with a shielded resistor, a power of 750 to 1000 W/m² produces a temperature increase of approximately 10°C. The necessary power can be reduced depending on the exposure of the area. If the area is only protected by a roof, at least 1000 W/m² is required. If the area is surrounded by three walls, 750 W/m² is sufficient. For an enclosed area, the required power must be calculated. For example, a greenhouse requires 250 to 300 W/m². Comfort is optimal when heat comes from two directions.

Mounting

The Infracalm is installed horizontally, on the ceiling or wall, using the supplied adjustable mounting brackets. For optimal comfort, the angle of the infrared emitter is adjustable. Standard brackets cannot be used for installation in the ceiling corner, as the distance then becomes less than the minimum distance. The Infracalm can also be suspended by a cable.

Connection

The INC20D is designed for permanent installation. The cassettes are approved for series connection.

Control options

Power control with timer (see accessories)

Progressive control particularly suitable for occasional and zone heating. Heat distribution is regulated for ideal comfort. The integrated timer allows fine programming of heating durations.

Control with timer

The timer can be set to the desired duration. If the load exceeds the timer's control range or if you wish to control a larger system, you can use a contactor.
