The principle of plaster radiant ceiling heating

Contrary to popular belief, ceiling heating is no less effective than underfloor heating. While hot air naturally rises, thermal radiation works differently: it heats surfaces, objects and people directly, regardless of the source position.

The Fricokit is a complete heating system integrated into the ceiling through plasterboard. For insufficient insulation, it can serve as supplementary heating.

Exclusive installation on PRP boards
The use of plasterboards specially designed for this technique is mandatory.

Optimal performance
Plaster radiant ceiling offers maximum efficiency thanks to a thin plaster layer of only 13 mm between the source and the room. Unlike the floor which can be obstructed by furniture or carpets, the ceiling remains clear, allowing optimal heat diffusion at 80%. Response time is also faster than underfloor heating as there is no screed inertia to overcome. Surface temperature does not exceed 32°C in nominal operation.

Fricokit Installation

Professional installation is recommended. Each kit is designed for one room with its own thermostat.

The kit contains all necessary elements:

Electronic thermostat for regulation

Connection garland

Radiant heating panels

Neutral panels ensuring thermal continuity

Assembly consists of connecting the junction boxes and positioning the components. The heating panels connect in series via the garland, which terminates in a junction box connected to the thermostat. The 230V single-phase supply arrives at the thermostat (11A relay), then connects to the garland through the junction box.

A standard Fricokit carton delivers 73.3 W/m². After accounting for cutting waste, it provides minimum 75 W/m² under correct insulation conditions.

Calculation example for 20 m²:

Technical characteristics

Heating panels:
High-density rock wool structure with heating element bonded to underside, equipped with a 2 m cold tail.

SKP36N neutral panels:
Same construction without heating element, necessary for thermal insulation continuity.

TEVMIN11 regulation:
6-order electronic thermostat with 10-day first commissioning program. This progressive program prevents drying out and cracking of boards after jointing.

Electrical connection:
Each panel has a 2 m cord with male plug. Connection is made exclusively with approved GPRP specialized lines, consisting of a cable with connectors spaced 1200 mm apart.

Implementation

Installation must comply with NF C15100, CPT-PRP and current technical approval. It requires a QUALIBAT 7151, 7152 or 7153 qualified company for the entire framework, panels and PRP boards, or coordination between heating electrician and qualified ceiling installer.

A thermal study and layout plan are mandatory. No drilling must be made in heating elements. 30 mA differential protection per 7.5 kW max (230V) or 13 kW (400V) section.
