Particle Counter PC 220 - TROTEC
The PC220 particle counter is a portable measuring device combining particle analysis, gas detection, and climate control. Compliant with ISO 21501-4 standard, it features a photo-video camera to document each reading and facilitate indoor air quality monitoring in industrial, medical, or building environments.
Simultaneous measurements and intuitive display
The device evaluates six particle size channels in parallel, ranging from 0.3 to 10 µm. It also detects fine dust PM10 and PM2.5 expressed directly in µg/m³, while measuring formaldehyde (HCHO) and carbon monoxide (CO) gases. All data is displayed on a 2.8" color LCD screen with color bar and audible alarm in case of critical threshold exceedance.
Integrated environmental parameters
In addition to particle counting and gases, the PC220 tracks the following data:
Relative humidityAir temperatureDew pointWet bulb temperature
Data storage and export
The PC220 records up to 5,000 measurements in its internal memory, expandable to 16 GB via MicroSD card. Thanks to the USB connection, results can be quickly transferred to a PC for processing or archiving.
Main applications
Indoor air quality control: compliance with health thresholds and pollutant detectionBuilding technical management: verification of ventilation networks and filter monitoringSanitation: detection of partition leaks during renovation workIndustrial filters: efficiency control and prevention of seal failuresSensitive processes: monitoring of micro and nanoparticles (dust, aerosols, bacteria)
PC220 key features
6 channels from 0.3 to 10 µm for particle countingPM10 and PM2.5 measurement in µg/m³Integrated HCHO and CO detectionFilter efficiency evaluationClimate parameters: RH, T°, dew point, wet bulb T°Integrated photo/video cameraMemory 5,000 data points, expandable MicroSD 16 GBBacklit color LCD screenAudible alarm and color displayErgonomic one-hand use and tripod threading
A precise tool for formaldehyde detection
Equipped with an HCHO sensor capable of measuring from 0.01 ppm, the PC220 meets the requirements related to the reclassification of formaldehyde as a carcinogenic substance in Europe. It contributes to risk assessment, regulatory documentation, and prevention of prolonged exposures.
Quantitative measurement of fine dust
The PC220 relies on the international PM classification (EPA) to quantify PM10 and PM2.5 dust. These readings are essential to limit the health impact of alveolar particles and ensure reliable monitoring in work environments.
